A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas

11:21 AM  TechNewsWEBPH

After years of growing apart, Harold Lee and Kumar Patel have replaced each other with new friends and are preparing for their respective Yuletide celebrations. But when a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar's door on Christmas Eve, his attempt to redirect it to Harold's house ends with the "high grade" contents -- and Harold's father-in-law's prize Christmas tree -- going up in smoke. With his in-laws out of the house for the day, Harold decides to cover his tracks, rather than come clean. Reluctantly embarking on another ill-advised journey with Kumar through New York City, their search for the perfect replacement tree takes them through party heaven -- and almost blows Christmas Eve sky high.

New Blogger Layout

5:26 PM  TechNewsWEBPH

Hello there fellow bloggers. When I logged in into my blogger dashboard early this morning something just popped up(notification). I haven't made a screenshot(the popup) of it since I wasn't interested on it. And every time I visit my blog, I always check the design of it to make it easy for the viewers to navigate and jump into the next article.

This afternoon, I visit again and logged in into my blogger dashboard because I have something to add in the design. I check the template designer then whoa, what's this, Dynamic Views? How this work? So I give a try. Then I remember, oh this was the one notified me this morning. It was the new blogger design(Dynamic Views), I suppose I am just the one who is new to it. Upon trying it out, I just liked the way it was designed. So I applied it out and boom. It's kinda pretty amazing. When I open my blog it loads fast and the articles are arranged accordingly with the images. And if you hover those images it will be in a lightbox effect. Once click the article loads in a lightbox. Pretty amazing though.

With the new design I implement to my blog, there are things that other blogger might not want to. The absence of the adsense in the banner, sidebar and even footer. I still have to tweak some codes to make my adsense appear. Maybe within the article. Other affiliate links and comments are gone. Lucky the social share button and facebook like is still there.

I know there are lots of things I need to know to make it better. Well as for the meantime. I like it that way. If you like to make it looks like mine. Just give a try and you'll find out how it looks great.

Below are some screenshots on the dashboard panel.

Nooku FM Integration

6:30 AM  TechNewsWEBPH

Nooku is a team of experienced software architects, lead by Johan Janssens, Lead Architect of Joomla 1.5.

The Nooku story germinated from a seed of an idea created during a conversation between Joomla 1.5 Lead Architect Johan Janssens, and some high profile Joomla users. It was 2007, and Joomla 1.5 was a great step up from the previous versions. But for the United Nations, the Belgian Police, and a number of companies, Joomla was missing enterprise-level multilingual features.

The ideas for the development model grew from there. The combined efforts of our partners allowed us to build innovative Open Source technology: First Nooku Content, for multilingual management, and later Nooku Framework, a new brain for Joomla, and the logical next step after the Joomla 1.5 framework. more at nooku.org

Joomla on the other hand just released its J!1.7 version last July 19, 2011. In addition, Joomla will have a Six-Month Release Cycle which is...

"A shorter development cycle that will enhance Joomla’s stability by providing more core feature development and adoption. Short-term releases will be in active development for six months, then reach the end-of-life one month after the next version’s release. Long-term support will be active for 15 months, starting with Joomla version 1.8. Version 1.7 will have a support cycle of seven months."

The community of Joomla now speaks up about integrating Nooku to Joomla. It has climb to the 20th spot in the community garnering 351votes as of the moment.

If you'd like Nooku be integrated to Joomla you can cast your vote at Joomla Idea Poll Forum

6:08 PM  TechNewsWEBPH

Facebook announced Timeline during their f8 event last September 22, 2011.
A timeline is a way of displaying a list of events in chronological order, sometimes described as a project artifact . It is typically a graphic design showing a long bar labeled with dates alongside itself and (usually) events labeled on points where they would have happened. And for Facebook, Timeline tells your story with a new kind of profile.

So let us get it applied to your Facebook Account.

Here it goes.

1. Log in to your Facebook Account.

2. Go to Facebook's developers site https://developers.facebook.com/
and Allow Developer for permission. (this is applicable to user who hasn't allowed the developer in their account)

3. If you are already in the Developers Site, Click Apps top panel of the site.

4. Create a New App. Don't worry your app will not be submitted to the developers app directory. If your account isn't authenticated yet? You can't create an App. To authenticate using mobile phone number visit how to authenticate facebook using mobile number.

5. You will be then prompted with the Security Check box. Make sure you input the correct figures then hit Submit

6. Your App will then be created and hit Save Changes.

7. Once your App is saved, hit Open Graph at the left panel of the page.

8. You will see page like in the image below, and fill up the two fields and hit Get Started.

9. Go to your Facebook Homepage or to your Profile Page. You will then see an invitation on trying Facebook Timeline (usually take 2-3mins).

10. Once you see the invitation, click Get it Now and start making your Facebook Timeline.

note: Your profile page will now the new Facebook Timeline, if you wish to publish it, friends and users who uses Timeline will only see your layout. Apple to Announce iPhone 5 on October 4

8:55 PM  TechNewsWEBPH

Tuesday October 4, that’s the day Apple is currently expected to hold its next big media event, according to sources close to the situation, where the tech giant will unveil the next iteration of its popular iPhone.

While Apple could certainly change its plans anytime, sources said that the October 4 date has been selected by the company to showcase the iPhone 5. Sources added that the plan is now to make the new device available for purchase within a few weeks after the announcement.

And while the iPhone 5 is a much anticipated handset, the event itself has a lot more importance for Apple than many previous ones.

That’s because it will be newly installed CEO Tim Cook’s first big product introduction and the place where the public will get a first lengthy impression of him that may well set the tone for Cook’s new role.

What will be interesting to see, of course, is if Jobs himself will also make an appearance, which is something that is likely to be determined by his health in a decision that will made very close to the event.

And while putting Jobs onstage with Cook could diminish the new leader’s first public effort, what better “one more thing” than Jobs himself making a cameo appearance?

Not Google Plus [Video]

Not Google Plus
By
Dan Gurewitch

By now you've probably heard about
Google+, a new social networking
platform. But there are already so
many of those.

That's why we've created Not
Google+. Joining is simple: First,
don't join Google+. Then, once
you've done that, don't invite your
friends to join Google+. They'll
all start not inviting their
friends to join, and soon, nobody
will feel any need or desire to
join Google+, and we can all get on
with our lives.

On Not Google+, you'll have fun not
spending hours dividing your
friends into "circles," not having
to update your "stream," and not
worrying about "huddles" and
"hangouts" or even learning what
those words mean!

In fact, Not Google+ has no
learning curve at all - everyone
alive has years of experience using
it! You're an expert!

Not Google+ provides the most
privacy of any social platform.
There's no mobile app to download.
You won't have to worry about
syncing it to FourSquare and
Tumblr, you won't feel a
compulsive, insecure need to
refresh it, and it will never
contribute to an irrational fear of
"missing out."

Not Google+ accomplishes all of
this simply by being, by
definition, something that does not
technically exist in the physical
realm. No one has ever received 14
invitations to a one-woman show on
a website that doesn't exist!

Best of all, you're already a Not
Google+ member. To continue your
membership, simply continue not
joining Google+.

Eat a cantaloupe, clean your
toilet, play tetherball with a
small Portuguese child - as long as
you're not joining Google+, you're
enjoying the benefits of Not
Google+. It's that easy!

If you enjoyed our other products,
"Definitely Not Google Wave" and
"Get The Hell Out of Here With That
Google Buzz Thing, Just Stop," you,
like us, understand that the
biggest revolution in social
networking would be for there to be
no more revolutions in social
networking. Not Google+: Because
Enough Already.

END.

Google Plus is now Open to Public

5:45 AM  TechNewsWEBPH

Just ahead of Facebook's f8 Conference, Google has announced nine new features for Google Plus, and there are some doozies. First of all, the social network is now open to the public. No sign-up required. Just go to google.com/+ and join the party. For the past 12 weeks, the network has been in "field trial" mode, but Senior Vice President of Engineering Vic Gundotra says that it is now "ready to move from field trial to beta." Open sign-ups is touted as the 100th feature of Google Plus.

Hangouts - the video chat feature - have come to mobile, currently supporting Android 2.3+ devices, and iOS support is "coming soon." Hangouts also now have an "On Air" feature, which allows any Google Plus user to tune in and watch. Furthermore, Hangouts now offer screensharing, a shared sketchpad, and names for Hangouts. But perhaps the killer app is Google Docs in Hangouts, which will open up the possibility of live collaborative work (especially once Google Apps accounts get access).
